Aspherical lenses are special in that they avoid spherical aberration, where incident beams of light are focused in different points. The production of high-quality pressed aspheres is one of the focus points in the range of HAUSER products and has a long tradition there as well.

After mastering the technology of pressing early on, the company was able to produce optically blankpressed spheres and aspheres as early as in the 1940's. At the time, HAUSER was the only company to use this technique, which has been continually developed further in the company and is still used today.
